The Ashirwad Scholarship, launched in collaboration with the Government of Punjab, is a post-matric scholarship that will provide higher education to SC/ST/OBC students. 

Students can pursue their graduation and postgraduate studies without worrying about financial constraints. The Punjab government has taken this initiative to create educational opportunities to build the future of all state students. Ashirwad Scholarship Program: Eligibility Criteria 


The eligibility criteria that students must meet to apply for the  Ashirwad Scholarship are discussed below:

  • Firstly, the student must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
  • The student must be below 17 years of age.
  • The applicant must belong to the SC/ST/OBC category.
  • SC/ST category students must have an annual family income of less than Rs. 2.5 lakh.
  • OBC category students must have a yearly family income of less than 1 lakh rupees.
  • The student must have passed the 10th class from any government, privately or publicly recognized school, or the board of secondary education.
  • If a student receives any other scholarship, they are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Students participating in distance education are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants with a graduate degree in medicine are eligible to apply.
