Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024
The Raman Charpak Fellowship was launched in 2013 when the President of France visited India. PhD students from both countries are eligible to apply for this fellowship. For students to pursue technology, innovation, and science in the future. The Raman Charpak Fellowship is now open for master’s students in France. Those who want to spend an exciting time in India as per their curriculum.
The program implemented by the Indo-French Center for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA) aims to enhance the doctoral skills of Indian and French students to enable them to do part of their research work in a university/research and development institute. Located in France or India respectively.
Object Raman Charpak Fellowship
The main objective of these fellowships is to help French students develop their master’s skills by allowing them to work as interns in an Indian institution or research institute. The program introduces participants to current study methods and trends in France and India and also learns about the cultural context of each.

Raman Charpak Fellowship: Benefits
We have discussed below the points that the applicants will get from this fellowship after being selected:-
- The selected candidates from India will receive 1,500 Euros with which they will receive a grant to cover their daily expenses, local travel, accommodation expenses, and social security charges.
- As of today, the selected candidates will benefit from Rs. 40,000 with which they can cover their daily expenses, local expenses, etc. and accommodation charges not exceeding Rs. 45,000 per month.
- Insurance coverage (travel and health) when necessary.
- The shortlisted candidates will be provided a flight ticket in economy class between India and France.
- The shortlisted candidates will be reimbursed for any administrative charges associated with the visa and registration process.
- A Fellow may be eligible for additional funding (up to Euro 500 for Indian Fellows and equivalent support for Indian Rupees for French Fellows) for participating in a Seminar/Workshop while on fellowship and staying in their host country.
- During the fellowship time, no support will be provided to the selected candidates’ families.

- Students can avail the fellowship for a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 6 months
Raman Charpak Fellowship: Eligibility Criteria
- Indian students must be a permanent resident of India. They must ensure that they are registered to pursue a Ph.D. in any recognized university or research institute in India.
- French students, on the other hand, must be permanent residents of France and must ensure that they are registered to pursue a Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree at any recognized university or research institution in France.
- Pre-approved by their University/Institute to apply for a foreign fellowship.
- The maximum age of the applicant should be 30 years as of April 1st Week of 2024.
- Students once supported by CEFIPRA, also in the framework of CEFIPRA projects, and students who have a permanent position in institutions/universities are not eligible
- A letter of recommendation from the Ph.D. supervisor in his or her original lab.
- A letter of reference and approval from the intended host supervisor of the fellowship lab.

Raman Charpak Fellowship: Required Documents
- Submit 5 pages detailed Details description of the Research Plan in the prescribed format giving the title and research work plan and an explanation of the benefits that the candidate will receive during their stay in a proposed research institute or university in France or India.
- Research Proposal A two-page Curriculum Vitae in the prescribed format with a current photograph and CV should summarise the achievement and research interests.
- A recent photograph of the applicants.
- A scanned copy of a valid passport, including front and back.
- Scanned copy of the Master’s degree certificate and Ph.D. registration letter.
- A letter of recommendation from the Ph.D. supervisor at his or her native lab
- A letter of reference and approval from the intended host supervisor of the fellowship lab.
- Ph.D. overview or summary of work, together with a letter describing research experience.
- No objection. Certificate from the Head of the Institution.
