About Medhashree Scholarship 2024

West Bengal Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee, announced the Medhashree scholarship in 2023 at a public meeting in Alipurduar. Students from Other Backward Society, i.e. OBC community, will benefit from this scholarship financially. Chief Minister Shri Mamata Banerjee has announced that about 2 lakh 65 thousand students of the OBC community will get Rs. 800 per head per month.

Medhashree Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

The following eligibility criteria must be followed to complete the application process properly:

• First, the student must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• The beneficiary must be a Class V to Class VIII student.
• The student must be studying in a government school in West Bengal.
• The student’s annual family income must be less than Rs 2.50 lakh rupees.
• The applicant must belong to the Minority or OBC category.
• Students studying outside West Bengal are not eligible for the Medhasree Scholarship.
